School House System and Mentoring System

The House system aims to give students an identity and a sense of pride in a supportive and secure environment. The Houses provide a positive competition and a close rapport between students and teachers. They also aim to help new students and faculty members in adapting to the culture of the School.

Each House has a Housemaster and a House prefect/captain elected and is identified by its own symbol, logo, colour and house flag.

Grade 1 to 4 – Mentoring System

Mentoring system at The Iconic School aims to take care of students’ academic needs, external exposure and socio-emotional needs. Regular competitions, focus on personality development and participation in co-curricular activities help inculcate confidence and bring versatility in the child’s personality.

All students in primary school are a part of the mentoring system, whereby they are divided into four groups, each having a separate mentor. Mentors ensure academic support for their respective mentees, with the help of subject experts, in case the need arises. As the students enter Grade 5, mentor groups get merged with the houses.

Grade 5 onwards – House System

The four houses at the School are Jade, Topaz, Sapphire and Ruby; each having a separate Housemaster. The House system enables students to take responsibility for various projects and demonstrate that they can manage and bring such projects to a successful conclusion while taking ownership for their self-development.

The house system encourages competition between different houses as a part of the intra school activities such as sports day, debates, elocution, declamation, etc. Merit points for behaviour and academic achievement are awarded house-wise to foster greater achievement and responsibility towards one another.
